Through our various statutory missions, we strive to make a positive and sustainable contribution to society and the environment<\/strong>. We are helping to change practices and attitudes on environmental issues<\/strong>, with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality in our day-to-day activities, as well as in our efforts to raise awareness of ecology and climate change among our employees and government bodies, municipalities and businesses. We make the United Nations Global Compact project<\/strong> our working tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a sustainable and socially responsible extractive industry, as supported by our fundamental vision. This justifies our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion issues<\/strong> (combating discrimination, equal opportunities, promoting diversity). In concrete terms, 4 types of action<\/strong> materialize our commitment to supporting sustainable economic development in Africa and around the world.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The firm focuses on local communities, indigenous and non-indigenous populations affected by extractive projects, trade unions, associations and NGOs working in this sector, through training and awareness-raising<\/strong> we provide in the monitoring of extractive projects, with regard to the social, environmental and governance issues surrounding the extraction of mineral resources.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We intervene free of charge in scientific and professional research, to make it more democratic. This is particularly true of the training scholarships<\/strong> we offer to students of the Certificate in Extractive Industries Law and Management (Certificat droit et management des industries extractives -CDMIEs) at William Booth University in Kinshasa. These scholarships are administered in such a way as to ensure the social inclusion of beneficiaries, as they enable the weakest to gain access to high-quality training reserved for professionals, and allow them beneficial inclusion with these professionals in order to promote their employability and networking. The firm’s aim is to enable the acquisition of skills that will support sustainable growth.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Scientific research is generally the prerogative of public educational bodies, which receive grants to carry out research missions. Lextractiv believes that its involvement in scientific research could contribute to making the extractive industries more responsible and sustainable, and has committed itself to this objective. Thanks to the support of our donors, the firm is committed to devoting its volunteer time<\/strong> to noble actions in scientific research and knowledge production<\/strong> through the production of an<\/strong> international, bilingual and digital RELEXT journal\/collection<\/strong> in Open Access, specializing in social sciences in the extractive industries.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The firm has also pledged to its partners that it will soon be granting Lextractiv thesis awards<\/strong> which are international excellence scholarships for the best social science theses on the extractive industries, by covering all publishing costs in the RELEXT collection, a dedicated monographic collection.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
